2023 Camp Registration Updates

Although it seems like our summer just ended, we are already looking forward to the summer of 2023 with great anticipation! Registration for the 2023 camping season will officially open on Saturday, October 1 and there are just a few changes to make everybody aware of.

1. When you register from October 1-31, and use the promo code TYC23, you will receive 10% off of your final camp costs. When you register between October 1-December 31, there will be no deposit due at the time of registration. All deposits will take effect starting January 1, 2023.

2. Our Explorers Camp for 2023 will look a little different at registration. We have split explorers camp into 3 different levels, beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The descriptions for each level, and what sessions they will be are listed below.

-Beginner Explorers (Sessions 1&4): This camp is for kiddos ages 10 and up who have an interest in learning about the outdoors, and have never participated in our Explorers Camp before. In this camp campers will learn basic fire building and shelter building skills, how to canoe properly, and much more.

-Intermediate Explorers (Sessions 2&5): This camp is for kiddos ages 12 and up who have participated in at least one year of Explorers Camp in 2022. In Intermediate Explorers Camp, campers will review and build on previous skills that have been learned, learn how to meal plan and pack out meals, and go on a campout.

-Advanced Explorers(Sessions 3&6):Our Advanced explorers camp is for kiddos ages 13 and up who have completed at least 2 years Explorers Camp (2021 & 2022) and want to continue to develop their outdoor skills. Campers will build on their previous knowledge, and adventure on a longer canoe trip and campout, with the goal of participating in Explorers Adventure Camp in 2024.

3. Hunters Safety Camp has now been renamed Outdoor Education Camp. In Outdoor Education camp campers will learn about North Dakota's ecosystem, all while earning their Hunters Safety Certification in a class taught by a certified Hunters Safety Instructor.
