Resident
Camp (Ages 8-15)
Our
traditional resident camp is filled with fun and
nonstop excitement! Since 1964, Triangle Y Camp
has been developing programs and activities that
build confidence, social skills, and
self-esteem. Through this program, campers have
the opportunity to learn new skills or further
existing ones by participation in the many
activities camp has to offer. In a safe, healthy
environment, care and guidance is always on hand
to encourage children to try new activities.
Program Activities: Windsurfing, sailing,
Alpine Climbing Tower, target sports,
swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, and much more!
Horsemanship Camp (Ages 9-15)
Beginner: This is a great program to
introduce campers to horse care and riding
instruction. Each camper will be assigned a
horse for the week, developing a bond and feel
for one another. Throughout the week campers
will become familiar with western riding, parts
of the horse, difference in tack, and a proper
horse care.
Intermediate/Advanced: This program is
for campers with prior riding experience or
those who have gone through Beginner
Horsemanship Camp. Campers will continue
strengthening the skills listed above while
moving to a new level of knowledge and training.
With progressive riding instruction, campers
will spend more time in the arena working on
agility, riding styles, and negotiating
obstacles. Horsemanship campers will have the
opportunity to participate in traditional camp
activities throughout the week.
*Please identify on the registration form the
camper's riding level: Beginner, Intermediate, or
Advanced.
Mini Horse Camp (Ages 6-8)

This program is similar to beginner Horsemanship
camp except that programming is geared more
towards the camper’s age and abilities.
Instructors take the time to pay attention to
the needs of each individual, ensuring each
camper has an enjoyable and safe experience.
Mini Horse campers will also have the
opportunity to participate in traditional camp
activities throughout the week such as swimming,
waterfront activities (windsurfing, sailing,
canoeing), target sports, arts and crafts,
campfire, and camp games.
Mini Camp (Ages 6-8)
For the first-time camper we offer Mini Camp -
three fun-filled days of camp activities geared
more towards your child’s age, interests, and
abilities. Much time and attention is put into
mini camp activities, knowing that this may be
your child’s first time away from home. Rest
assured that responsible staff closely
supervise all activities to give your camper a
safe and enjoyable experience. With at least
one counselor to a four camper ratio, each camper
will receive plenty of care and attention.
Activities and Programs: Group games,
swimming, sailing, canoeing, arts and crafts,
campfire, and much more.
Windjammers (Ages 11-15)

If
your interests revolved around spending as much
time on the water as possible, windjammers is
the program for you. With guidance from
experienced instructors you will learn how to
windsurf, sail, and canoe. During the week,
campers will have the chance to participate in a
canoe trip and camp out along the shores of Lake
Sakakawea. While making extensive use of our
waterfront resources, windjammers will also
engage in regular camp activities.
Climbers Camp (Ages 11-15)
This week-long camp will take you to new levels
of achievement and satisfaction, both physically
and socially. Every
element will be led by
trained facilitators, providing campers with the
instruction and guidance needed to work and
succeed as a team. They will spend time
developing the necessary skills needed to belay,
climb at different levels on the tower, inspect
the equipment and tower, and secure ropes. Each
individual will choose his or her own level of
activity in a supportive setting without
pressure. The tower philosophy “Challenge by
Choice” allows campers to participate to
whatever degree they are comfortable. Success
will not be measured by reaching the top of the
tower, but rather by reaching personal and team
goals.
Explorer Camp (Ages 10-15)
Explorer camp is designed for campers
with a high interest in the outdoors. Campers
will experience many adventures during the
week, such as a Lake Sakakawea canoe trip,
overnight campouts, backpacking trips, Alpine
Tower climbs and outdoor skill development.
Explorer campers will also have the opportunity
to participate in traditional camp activities.
Our Explorer staff is well-educated in outdoor
education and canoe safety and is devoted to
ensuring that each child has a positive and
memorable
experience.
Survivor Camp (Ages 10-15)
Spend a week competing against and alongside
friends to decide who will be the Ultimate
Survivor of Triangle Y Camp and win a FREE week
at camp the following year. Throughout the week,
campers earn points and rewards for team
challenges. Campers will also have the
opportunity to participate in regular camp
activities. This camp is designed to teach team
development skills such as communication,
discipline, trust and leadership while focusing
on the YMCA character values.
